Superfront

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

This company is the answer to all my Ikea related prayers. Sadly, they don’t ship to the US, yet. Besides offering cabinet fronts to dress up your standard Ikea cabinets, they also offer cabinet pulls and furniture legs to take your Ikea pieces from predictable to custom designy, and the prices are surprisingly great.

I want these leather loop handles so bad.

CLEAN LEAN

I wish I could throw out those pathetic 4×4 wood stumps and dress up our guest bed with the clean lean legs.

Look through their gallery for some transformational ideas for new tops, fronts, sides, legs, and handles on your existing pieces. I’ll keep checking back to see when they include the US in their market.

The Striped Rug

Have you noticed the striped rug is “trending” (a word I have never used before and I’m not sure how I feel about it). Now we see it officially in a dining room with an eclectic mix of chairs from Dwell.

Pretty Pegs

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

Neato idea that I spotted at Design Sponge – a company called Pretty Pegs offers a line of cute and contemporary peg legs to replace those standard  scary ugly 2×4 blocky legs that comes on so many Ikea sofas and bed frames. This is a great solution to instantly upgrade the look and style of your Ikea pieces into something that you won’t be embarrassed of.  They are even customizable by color. The only problem is that some of the pegs are as costly as the actual furniture piece. If it means overall you can afford the piece that now has a designer look and feel, it is justified and opens up so many new possibilities…
