Children’s Prints

Thursday, October 4th, 2012

My good friend was planning on creating a gallery wall in her play room of unique illustrations evocative of vintage children’s books.  I suggested buying a few actual vintage books from eBay and mixing the some framed pages in with prints from Etsy. Frame them all consistently in white (good and cheap frames from Ikea).

The world of Etsy can be overwhelming so I tried to point her in the direction of a few of my favorite shops. She opted for a large canvas in the end so I’ll share my selection with you if you want to use the idea for a whimsical play room or nursery gallery wall. These prints aren’t too childish and will grow with your babe as their tastes get more sophisticated. What are your favorite shops for snagging special prints?

Until a few months ago, I had never heard or seen of these equisite Finnish geometric constructs typically made of straw and used as Christmas ornaments. Not a very summer appropriate post, but I couldn’t wait until December to appreciate these awe inspiring mobiles which are fast becoming a modernist staple.
