Color Blocking

I’m sure you have noticed this fashion trend recently: large fields of complimentary colors, sometimes cut on the diagonal. Mixing pinks with reds, blues with yellows, throwing in some neutrals like biege or grey. The look is not for the faint of heart – no patterns to break up the bright colors. And there’s an air of 60’s mod and 80’s prep to the whole endeavor.

Why I have even seen it on manicured nails! One might expect that after a few seasons on the runways and street, this trend would trickle down into interiors. And of course it has. Its a little jarring as a permanent fixture, like kitchen cabinets or furniture.

Instead, its easier to play around with this trend in the form of home accessories.
